About Us

Joni's Child Care & Preschool is a family owned and operated business. Established in 1994, we currently operate five centers in the Connecticut area in Hartford and Litchfield counties ( Burlington, Canton, Farmington, Hartford) with plans for continued growth and expansion.
As a family business, managers share an unwavering commitment to provide the highest standards of child care and learning in safe, secure facilities. Our staff consists of skilled, educated, engaging professionals who are entirely dedicated to the interests of our children and families. Center management is required to undergo a rigorous training process, and like all staff, required to maintain professional certifications and educational credits. Safe, clean, secure facilities complete the picture, providing the ideal environment for children to thrive.
Joni's Child Care & Preschool believes that all children are loving, inquisitive beings in a constant state of learning. A careful balance of structured activities, free choice, self-expression and situational teaching provides varied opportunities to learn and develop. Emphasis is placed on process over product and children are encouraged to move toward increasing independence, both socially and academically. Children are encouraged to observe the environment around them, ask questions and offer answers. Children are capable of demonstrating manners and respect for themselves and others. Teachers are facilitators, role models and cheerleaders.
Joni's Child Care & Preschool is committed to building long-term relationships with our families and communities through regular dialog, conferences, open houses, presentations, athletic sponsorship and community service. We are proud members of local business chambers and organizations and continually seek ways to give back to our communities.

* All 5 of the Joni’s Child Care & Preschool centers are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). This is a rigorous set of standards beyond those required by the State of Connecticut. A nationally trained team of inspectors spend several days in each program reviewing all aspects of the curriculum, teacher qualifications, interactions, communications and management. It takes several years to complete the accreditation process and then must be maintained through annual reporting systems, unannounced visits and emerging standards. Learn more about NAEYC here...
