Working At Joni's

Joni's Child Care & Preschool centers work hard to create a healthy, happy learning environment for both the children in our care and the professionals who work with us. The centers utilize an open floor plan which encourages teamwork, support and accountability. Regular, open communication is key.

Teachers are given tremendous creative freedom to build a curriculum that meets company standards based upon developmentally appropriate practice, variety and individual goals. Teachers write lesson plans, which are reviewed by the head teacher. Teachers communicate directly with parents with the support and guidance of center management.

Joni's Child Care & Preschool centers combine NAEYC appropriate practices and interactions with an academic curriculum. Children are challenged daily in writing, science, math and cognitive growth. They are also encouraged to explore and express themselves through various art media, dramatic play, blocks, clays and music. We seek to stimulate the whole child.

* All 5 of the Joni’s Child Care & Preschool centers are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). This is a rigorous set of standards beyond those required by the State of Connecticut. A nationally trained team of inspectors spend several days in each program reviewing all aspects of the curriculum, teacher qualifications, interactions, communications and management. It takes several years to complete the accreditation process and then must be maintained through annual reporting systems, unannounced visits and emerging standards. Learn more about NAEYC here...
